Be Planet Positive with Tetra Pak Tree Day
Written by Walsh:PR - February 2020
They say never work with animals or children but we’ve never listened! Tetra Pak Tree Day, supported by the Tree Council, is one of those annual events that always puts a smile on our faces. The campaign gives children, parents and teachers the opportunity to put down the books, get outdoors and plant a tree. Every September, the campaign’s mascot Sammy Squirrel features on Tetra Pak cartons of Avonmore school milk with seven simple messages on how to make better environmental choices.
To highlight the initiative, a media relations campaign encourages parents, teachers and kids to visit the Tree Day website and get involved. Kicking off with a photocall launch in the National Botanic Gardens with Senior Infant students from Our Lady of Consolation School Donnycarney, the campaign achieved a reach of over 2 million. It also resulted in over 1,000 requests through the campaign website www.treeday.ie for free native tree saplings to be planted on school grounds around Ireland.
